Who Preply hires
No nationality requirement is stated on the teach pageAbout Preply
Preply is an online tutoring marketplace. Tutors create a profile, set their own hourly rate, and teach students who book lessons. Preply's teach page says it is free to create a tutor profile and that Preply charges a commission only on lessons taught. The commission for a trial lesson with a new student is 100%. The commission for later lessons starts at 33% and decreases to 18% as a tutor teaches more hours. The same page says English tutors on the platform charge $15-25 per hour on average. That is Preply's statement about tutor-set prices, not a wage Preply pays, so this listing does not treat $15-25 as a fixed pay rate.
Preply's teach page also says no specific certification or teaching experience is required. Tutors need a laptop or desktop, a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. Approved tutors are paid through PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, or Wise. Profile review is described as taking up to 3 business days.
